WRAP!

by Joshua on Dec.01, 2009, under Production

Well folks, that’s it! We finally wrapped earlier tonight on all the additional pickup shots we had scheduled.  It was sad and happy all at the same time calling picture wrap.  We all went out to eat afterwards and just had a great time reminiscing about the project.

Now to the editing!

Week 1 updates

by Joshua on Nov.13, 2009, under Production

In the interest of letting you all get a glimpse of how we’ve been doing while not giving away too much from the film, I’ve uploaded a couple of random stills from this last week’s worth of footage. Enjoy!

equipment truck

by Joshua on Oct.30, 2009, under Production

James and I drove half way down to Las Cruces this morning to pick up our equipment truck.  We got a lot of work done on our shot list (we’re just figuring out the ordering, shot list has been done for a while).  Then we were met by some serious snow on the way home.  What the heck?  Snow in October in … Albuquerque?!  Not possible….The weather is supposed to be pretty nice next week, thank God.

Anyway, tomorrow we’re picking up the rest of our equipment after an early morning location scout.  Then its off to camera tests.

costumes

by Joshua on Oct.27, 2009, under Cast, Production

Here’s some photos from last week.  Gillian East, our Costume Designer, was fitting two of our leads, Levi Martinez (”Peter”) and Carlos A. Montoya (”The Captain”).

Looking like Peter Pan, Levi.  And get a good look, this may be that last time we see Carlos in a beard…

Neverland, Snoricams, and High-hats

by Joshua on Oct.27, 2009, under Production

Went up to the neverland set today with the art department.  James and I worked on building a high hat and snoricam while the art department worked on decorating the set.  I had to leave early, so I’m not sure what it ended up looking like, but I liked what I saw when I left.

Also got a sneak peak at some of the cool props – like our crocodile clock center piece (sorry, no photo, keeping that a secret!).  You can see the Captain’s sling blade, however.  When the art dept. is done with it it’ll be a bit more hooklike, but this is where they’re at.  Sorry its out of focus, I was in a hurry. ;-(

Crew Meeting Last Night, Backflips and more

by Joshua on Oct.26, 2009, under Production

Last night was the crew meeting.  We are definitely all on the same page now.  Made some great progress on our locations, almost have a schedule locked down, and even scored a wheelchair from the art department to use as a supplemental dolly.

Tonight, I worked on getting Levi Martinez in shape for the le parkour scenes.  He can now do a vault, kong, wall run, wall flip, and a backflip.  He’s a pretty talented kid.  We then worked on his aerial.  He needs a bit of work yet, but he’s progressing nicely.  Hopefully he’ll get it down this Wednesday.

In other news, the imdb page is finally up for my last film: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1533763/.  Funny thing is though, I’m not on there yet as the writer/director, but a there’s a start for some of the crew.  I’ve submitted the updates and changes, so hopefully we’ll get that all squared away soon.  Makes me feel all official. ;-)

Tomorrow, I’m going with the art department to neverland to see how they’re doing up there, and to collect some materials so James (cinematographer) and I can build a snoricam.  Then its off to more choreography with vampire slayers and our new Stunt Coordinator, Ed Duran.

Cast Table-Read

by Joshua on Oct.19, 2009, under Production

We had our table read with our cast last night, at the Auxiliary Dog Theatre.  What a great venue!

Our cast did a phenomenal job, I’m so excited about everyone’s participation.  I think our cast is going to bring something really special and unique to our film.
